#9: Capitol Bell at Night | Favorite Shots of ‘09

This ended up being my first real night photo shoots, I had taken a few with mixed results before, but never a full shoot.

Honestly I had no clue what I was doing with night photography at the time. I didn’t have the understanding of aperture, shutter speeds and ISO that I have developed over the past year.

Still though this makes the list because in spite of everything I still love the way the light moves in this image. I’ve thought about doing a re-shoot several times but I just can’t bring myself to do it. There are tons of in-perfections, but I enjoy the rawness of the shot and probably the sheer luck it took to pull it off.
